Diplomová práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se zabývá ekonomickým pozadím evropské integrace. Její hlavní část je zaměřena na vnitřní trh a vlastní hospodářskou a měnovou unii. Pozornost je věnována Maastrichtským kritériím konvergence, reálné konvergenci a Kodaňským kritériím. Praktická část se zabývá Českou republikou a její připraveností na přijetí jednotné evropské měny. Analyzována je ekonomická, politická i právní konvergence České republiky s eurozónou. Česká republika v posledních letech plní všechna Maastrichtská kritéria konvergence, přijetí eura však dosud brání nedostatečná konvergence v právní oblasti. Proces, jehož konečným cílem je přijetí jednotné měny začíná politickým rozhodnutím, k němuž v České republice prozatím nebyla nalezena dostatečná shoda. This diploma thesis is devided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with economic background of the european integration. It´s main part is focused on the single market and mainly on the economic and monetary union. Attention is paid to the Maastricht convergence criteria, stage of real convergence and to the entry criteria adopted in Copenhagen. The practical part deals with the readiness of the Czech republic to adopt the single currency. It analyses both economic, political, and legal convergence of the Czech republic to the Euro Zone. The Czech republic has in recent years fulfilled the Maastricht critera, the addoption of euro is however hindered by insufficient legal convergence. The addoption of euro starts with a political decision, to what hasn´t been yet found sufficient consensus.
