Práce se zaměřuje na vývoj domovů mládeže ve sledu historických událostí. Zmiňuje předchůdce domovů - středověké univerzity, útulky pro školní mládež, domovy mladých jako součást Baťových škol práce, domovy mládeže v předválečném Československu, ve válečném i poválečném období, za komunismu a v současnosti. Objasňuje, proč domovy vznikly, jaké události tomu předcházely, jaké události vznik domovů provázely, jaký vliv na funkci domovů měl režim ve kterém fungovaly. The thesis focuses on the development of halls of residence in the context of historical events. It also mentions the predecessors of halls of residence medieval universities, shelters for students, halls of residence as a part of Baťa's school of work, halls of residence in the pre-war Czechoslovakia, during the war and the post-war period, during the Communist era and in the present day. The thesis clarifies why were the halls of residence established, the events that preceeded their establishment and how the halls were influenced by the regimes in which they functioned.
