Cílem této práce je představit dvě fantastické novely francouzského autora Prospera Mériméeho La Vénus d´Ille (1837) a Lokis (1868). Po úvodu a krátkém představení autora následuje stěžejní část práce, jejíž kapitoly jsou zaměřené na rozbory jednotlivých novel z hlediska kompozičního a výrazového a jejich komparaci. Na základě tohoto se práce zároveň snaží zjistit, jakou funkci zaujímají v celku autorovy umělecké tvorby. The aim of the thesis is to introduce two fantastics novellas of french author Prosper Méerimée La Vénus d´Ille (1837) and Lokis (1868). After an introduction and short portrait of author follows the major part of the thesis whose chapters aim at analysis of individuals works from the point of view of composition and expression and their comparision. On the basis of this the thesis tries to find their function in the whole of the author´s work.
