Za pomocí transkripcí a rozboru tří skladeb z legendárního alba Live at The Pershing: But Not For Me z roku 1958 se autor práce snaží čtenáři přiblížit Jamalův styl hry, jeho kompoziční a aranžérské prostředky v rámci klavírního tria a definovat prvky, které učinily jeho dílo zásadní pro pozdější vývoj v této oblasti. This thesis covers the personality of Ahmad Jamal, jazz pianist, who in fifties set the fundaments of modern jazz especially in the field of jazz trio by his original minimal style and unconventional approach to arrangements.
