Celkové zhodnocení funkcí a významu mokřadů v BR bude předmětem mezinárodního pracovního zasedání programu MAB v r. 2002 v ČR. The presence of wetlands greatly increases the biodiversity and habitat diversity in the Czech BRs. Wetlands also play an important role in the water balance and biogeochemical cycling of the BRs. Their conservation and/or sustainable management should set an example to wetland management in other regions of the Czech Republic.
