V současném podnikatelském prostředí jsou krize stále závažnějším a častěji se vyskytujícím problémem. Proces, který má zabránit krizi nebo snížit poškození jí způsobené, se nazývá krizový management. Jedná se o dynamickou oblast řízení podniku, neboť se v čase neustále vyvíjí, zdokonaluje a obohacuje o nové informace. Cílem této bakalářské práce byl souhrn současných teoretických poznatků z proaktivních a reaktivních přístupů v krizovém managementu a dále zanalyzování krizového řízení ve vybrané společnosti London Mining Plc. Teoretická část byla vypracována pomocí rešeržní analýzy zdrojů získaných z dostupných odborných a vědeckých publikací. Praktická část byla založena na metodě dotazníkového šetření a polostrukturovaného rozhovoru. Výsledky ukázaly, že přestože firma byla na krize připravena, chovala se proaktivně a měla vypracovaný detailní krizový plán, který jí pomohl vyhnout se mnoha nastavším krizím, společnost nakonec zanikla z důvodu krize způsobené vyšší mocí - tedy důsledkem celosvětově se snižující ceny její hlavní komodity a s neočekávaným propuknutím epidemie viru ebola v místě jejího působení. Increasingly in today's dynamic business environment, serious crises are more often encountered and of increasing severity. The process which is intended to prevent or reduce the damage of a crisis is called Crisis Management. It is a rapidly changing area of business management, since it constantly develops over time, improving and enriching itself with new and better information. The aim of this thesis was to summarize current theoretical knowledge of proactive and reactive approaches in crisis management and to analyse crisis management in a selected company London Mining Plc. The theoretical part was developed through the analysis of currently available scientific literature and specialized publications. The practical part was based on the questionnaire survey method and semi-structured interview. The results showed that although the company was prepared for crises; acted proactively and had drawn up a detailed crisis plan that helped the company avoid many expected crises, the company went into administration due to a crisis caused by force majeure - a result of the falling global price of the main commodity and an unexpected outbreak of the Ebola virus in their principal place of business activity.
