The experimental procedures are described, based on nonlinear elastic wave spectroscopy (NEWS). Special testing samples - PMMA blocks with laser induced cracks - are designed to verify that procedures. Opening of cracks enables kissing effect of their faces at relatively small amplitude of dynamic excitation which plays substantial role in Nonlinear Wave Modulation Spectroscopy method (frequency mixing) where it causes creation of side lobes in frequency spectra. V příspěvku jsou diskutovány různé experimentální procedury diagnostiky defektů pomocí nelineární spektroskopie elastických vln (NEWS). K ověřování těchto postupů byla navržena speciální zkušební tělesa z PMMA s vnitřními trhlinami, zhotovenými působením laserového záření. Rozvírání trhlin způsobuje t.zv. kissing effect i při relativně malých amplitudách dynamického buzení. Tento efekt je významný zejména u procedury frekvenčního směšování (NWMS).
