Práce analyzuje vliv jednotlivých faktorů ovlivňujících kvalitu života na míru sebevražd v jednotlivých krajích České republiky v letech 2000 -- 2008 a odpovídá na otázku, zda zde můžeme nalézt paradox sebevraždy ze štěstí. Na základě dat republiky Českého statistického úřadu jsem odhadla ekonometrický model. Jako determinanty vysvětlované proměnné (míra sebevražd) uvádím proměnné indexu kvality života. Výsledky neprokazují jednoznačný vliv indexu kvality života jako celku na míru sebevražd. Některé proměnné potvrzují hypotézu o existenci paradoxu sebevraždy ze štěstí, jiné proměnné tento paradox naopak vyvracejí. Nelze tedy jednoznačně hypotézu o existenci paradoxu sebevraždy ze štěstí na základě těchto dat vyvrátit ani potvrdit. Ukazuje se, že během sledovaného období došlo k poklesu celkového počtu spáchaných sebevražd. This thesis analyzes the impact of various affecting the quality of life on the suicide rate in the individual regions of Czech Republic in 2000 -- 2008 and answers the question, whether we can find happiness -- suicide paradox. The research is based on data from the Czech Statistical Office I estimate the econometric model. As determinants of the endogenous variable (suicide rate) I present variables of the index of the quality of life. The results do not show a clear impact of index of quality of life on the suicide rate as a whole. Some of variables confirm the hypothesis about the existence of happiness -- suicide paradox, on the contrary other variables disprove this paradox. The hypothesis about the existence of happiness -- suicide paradox based on these data can not be conclusively confirm or disprove. It appears that during this period the total number of committed suicides is decreasing.
