Předmětem této diplomové práce je analýza vývoje švýcarské ekonomiky na začátku třetího tisíciletí s důrazem na období od roku 2007, kdy vypukla hospodářská krize na finančních trzích Spojených států amerických a postupně se rozšířila téměř do všech částí globalizovaného světa. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol a první kapitola charakterizuje Švýcarsko z geografického, demografického, politického, historického i ekonomického hlediska. Druhá kapitola se věnuje specifikům švýcarské ekonomiky a rozboru základních makroekonomických ukazatelů v období 2007-2012. Mezi nejvýznamnější ukazatele patří hrubý domácí produkt, míra inflace a míra nezaměstnanosti, z pohledu vnitřní ekonomické rovnováhy je čtenáři popsán vývoj veřejných financí a z pohledu vnější ekonomické rovnováhy je v práci zkoumána platební bilance, zahraniční obchod a investiční pozice země. Třetí kapitola práci uzavírá podrobnější deskripcí průběhu hospodářské krize a důsledků na švýcarskou ekonomiku a perspektivami do budoucna. The objective of this diploma thesis is to analyse the Swiss economy at the beginning of the third millennium, while the main emphasis is put on period since 2007, when the world economic crisis started on the finacial markets of United States of America and then spread to other parts of the globalized world. The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter describes the fundamental geographic, demographic, political, historical and economic facts about Switzerland. The second chapter explores the Swiss economy on the basis of main macroeconomical indicators as gross domestic product, inflation rate and rate of unemployment. There is also analyse of the balance of payments, the foreign trade and the international investment position of the country. The third chapter concludes the thesis with detailed description of the crisis and its effects on the Swiss economy and with futures prospects.
