Práce zkoumá vliv politického rozhodování a volebních cyklů na ekonomiku ve třech vybraných zemích -- Velké Británii, Spojených státech Amerických a Spolkové republice Německo v letech 2003 až 2013. V práci jsou analyzovány ukazatele tempa růstu HDP, nezaměstnanosti, inflace, složené daňové kvóty, ročních deficitů, průměrné a minimální mzdy a hlavních burzovních indexů za účelem zjištění, zda politici manipulují s hospodářstvím tak, aby byli znovu zvoleni. Závěrem je nejednoznačná prokazatelnost politickoekonomického cyklu ve vyspělých demokraciích. This thesis analyses the influence of political decision-making and electoral cycles on three selected national economies -- the UK, the USA and Germany between 2003 and 2013. GDP growth rate, unemployment, inflation, compound tax quota, deficits, average and minimal wages and main bourse indexes are used in this work to find out if politicians are manipulating with economy to be reelected. Proof of the existence of the political business cycle in developed democratic countries is more then unclear.
