Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá mezinárodní reakcí, kterou vyvolal rostoucí počet pirátských útoků u břehů Somálska. Jejím cílem je specifikovat a analyzovat vojenské síly i civilní organizace, které byly nasazeny do boje proti pirátství v této oblasti. První část práce nastiňuje příčiny vzniku tohoto konfliktu a analyzuje dopady somálského pirátství na soukromý i veřejný sektor. Druhá kapitola se věnuje činnosti mezinárodních organizací, které působí v dané oblasti. Na závěr práce je věnován prostor jednotlivým protipirátským vojenským misím. This thesis examines the international response to growing number of pirate attacks off the coast of Somalia. Its aims are to specify and analyse military forces and civilian organizations that have been deployed to combat piracy in the region. The first part of the thesis outlines the causes of the conflict and analyses the impact of Somali piracy on the private and public sectors. The second chapter is devoted to the activities of international organizations working in the area. Final part discusses particular counter-piracy military missions.
