Tato práce představila koncept identity v teorii mezinárodních vztahů. Přítomnost vlivu identity ve vztazích mezi Čínou a Spojenými státy byla zkoumána pomocí kritické diskurzivní analýzy. Ta byla provedena na základě textů z amerických a čínských médiích, které zachycovaly konkrétní události týkající se Taiwanu a čínské měny. Po ověření zkoumaných parametrů byl prokázán vliv identity ve vzájemných vztazích. This paper presents concept of identity in the theory of international relations. Impact of identity in China-US relations was analysed by way of the critical discourse analysis. The analysis was conducted on the basis of texts from American and Chinese media that covered a certain moment in connection with Taiwan and Chinese currency. After verification of criteria was proved that identity has a role in their mutual relation.
