One of the long standing open problems of materials science and technology is how to produce a macroscopic crystal of required physical and chemical properties under a limited number of conditions adjustable and controlable from the outside. For example, purity of a starting material or temperature imposed on the freezing system may play the role of such controlling parameters Jedním z hlavních otevřených problémů materiálové fyziky a technologie je příprava krystalů s předem zadanými fyzikálními a chemickými vlastnostmi. Jedním z parametrů, pomocí kterých je možno řídit tento proces zvnějšku je i teplota tuhnoucího systému
