Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na vývoj vysokorychlostní a rychlé osobní železniční dopravy v Evropě a studii možné geografické expanze těchto tratí a jejich proveditelnosti. Teoretická část se zabývá vývojem vysokorychlostní železniční dopravy v Evropě- zejména ve Francii, Itálii, Německu a na Pyrenejském poloostrově. V praktické části jsou analyzovány současné možnosti prostorové expanze vysokorychlostních tratí (VRT) s ohledem na mezinárodní trasy. V závěru je autorkou zpracován návrh vysokorychlostní železniční sítě pro region Střední Evropa. Diploma thesis focuses on the development of high-speed passenger rail in Europe and studies possible geographic expansion of these lines and their feasibility. The theoretical part deals with the development of high-speed rail transport in Europe-especially in France, Italy, Germany and the Iberian Peninsula. In the practical part the thesis analyzes the present spatial expansion possibilities of high speed rail (HSR) with regard to international routes. In the conclusion is in the diploma thesis drafted HSR network for the Central European region.
