Tato diplomová práce pojednává o maloobchodním prostředí v USA se zaměřením na potraviny. Práce je rozdělena do 9 kapitol. První z nich poskytuje teoretický úvod do maloobchodního prostředí, definuje základní pojmy a uvádí rozdělení maloobchodu. Další kapitola pojednává o formátech vyskytujících se na retailingovém trhu USA. Třetí kapitola teorie maloobchodu vhodně doplňuje o oblast logistiky v retailingu. Dále následuje obecná kapitola, zabývající se Spojenými státy americkými, která uvádí makroekonomické údaje a sociokulturní charakteristiky. Pátá kapitola je stěžejní částí celé práce, jelikož představuje samotný potravinový retailing v USA. Po ní následují trendy v maloobchodu a práce je doplněna poměrně rozsáhlým srovnáním potravinového maloobchodního trhu USA a Evropy. This diploma thesis deals with food retailing in the USA. It is divided into 9 chapters. The first chapter includes important theoretical definitions and classifications. The next one explains the formats that are used in food retailing in the USA. The third one adds the area of logistics into the matter, which is also very important in retailing. The next chapter provides general introduction into the US market, like macro-economic data and socio-cultural specifications. The fifth chapter is the most important as it deals with the analysis of food retailing in the USA. The last parts of the thesis are dedicated to the comparison of the US food retailing market and the European food retailing market.
