Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou malých států a jejich zahraniční politiky, přičemž se zaměřuje na Skotsko jako potenciální samostatný stát. Popisuje proces devoluce, který byl zakončen neúspěšným referendem o nezávislosti v roce 2014. V souvislosti s ním jmenuje argumenty pro a proti odtržení, které by měly vliv na mezinárodní vztahy. V poslední kapitole se věnuje současnému postavení regionu Skotska na poli mezinárodní politiky, v mezinárodních organizacích (hlavně v Evropské unii) a pojednává o perspektivách tohoto regionu do budoucnosti. This bachelor thesis analyses small states and their foreign policy and pays a special emphasis on the position of Scotland as an independent country. It describes the process of devolution, which had been finished with unsuccessful referendum on independence in 2014. In connection with this plebiscite it names the "pro" and "con" arguments, which affect the international relations. The last chapter deals with current position of the region of Scotland in international politics, international organisations (especially in the European Union) and discusses possible perspectives of this region in the future.
