Abstract: The contribution contains a description of two different methods for discrete minimax approximation. These methods can be applied to electrical filter design. We demonstrate properties of these methods on the optimal design of a fourth order band-pass filter. Numerical results of our computational experiments and corresponding conclusions are presented.
