Cílem této práce je analyzovat vývoj počtu cizinců na území České republiky v letech 1993 - 2013. Zmapovat základní vlivy, které mají na vývoji počtu cizinců svůj podíl a dále komparace cizinců z Ukrajiny a Vietnamu ve vybraných charakteristikách. Práce je složena ze dvou částí. V teoretické části je věnována pozornost definicím a popisům základních pojmů, které s touto problematikou souvisí. Analytická část je rozdělena do čtyř časových období a je založená především na datech z Českého statistického úřadu ve formě časových řad vyjadřujících vývoj zkoumané problematiky. V jednotlivých obdobích se věnuji vývoji počtu cizinců v ČR, počtu cizinců s dlouhodobým pobytem a porovnání cizinců z Ukrajiny a Vietnamu v demografické struktuře, ekonomické aktivitě a podílu na celkovém počtu obyvatel České republiky. The goal of this paper is to analyse the development of the number of foreigners in the Czech Republic in between the years 1993 -- 2013. On top of that, the purpose is also to try to map the key drivers of such development and to compare the foreigners from Ukraine and Vietnam in selected areas. The paper consists of two parts. In the theoretical part I assess the definitions and descriptions of the basic concepts related to this topic. Analytical part is divided into four time-periods and is primarily based on the data from the Czech Statistical Office in the form of time series representing the development of the analysed field. In the individual periods I analyse the development of the number of foreigners in the Czech Republic, the number of long staying foreigners and compare the foreigners from Ukraine and Vietnam based on theirs demographical structure, economical activity and their share on the overall number of people in the Czech Republic.
