V práci se zabývám tématikou euroskepticismu a jeho vlivu na britské rozhodování v rámci evropského slučování. Ostrovní stát po vstupu do Evropského společenství v roce 1973 zaujímá velmi specifické postavení, kdy mu jsou během následujících let uděleny unikátní výjimky z procesu integrace. Hlavním cílem mé práce se stává analýza jednotlivých aspektů britského euroskepticismu s důrazem na tři definované problémy, které se dotýkají společné zemědělské politiky, eurozóny a Schengenského prostoru. V závěru práce pak shrnuji výsledky mého zkoumání a posuzuji, do jaké míry se pro Británii stal její unikátní přístup výhodným. This work deals with euroscepticism and its influence on British decision-making relateted to the proces of unifying Europe. After its admission into the European Community in 1973, Great Britain holds a very specific position. It has some unique exceptions from the integration proces. The main goal of the thesis is to analyze individual aspects of British euroscepticism while focusing on the three defined issues that affect common agriculture policy, eurozone and Schengen area. At the en, there is a summary of results of the research and argumentation of how advantegous the British unique approach is.
