Tato diplomová práce pojednává o problematice tzv. fenoménu vampyrismu v populární literatuře posledních dvou století. Za pomoci více či méně známé beletrie, spadající do této kategorie, teoretických a historických děl mapuje počátky, vývoj a proměny postavy upíra. Nemalou pozornost také věnuje problematice vztahů mezi upířími a smrtelnými ne-upířími postavami, které se spolu setkávají a střetávají v rámci jednotlivých fikčních světů. The submitted thesis introduces the so-called phenomenon of vampirism in popular literature of last two hundred years. With the help of more or less known pieces of vampire prose, theoretical and historical works the thesis presents the beginning, the development and transformations of a vampire character. The thesis also contains parts about relations between vampire and non-vampire mortal characters, who belong in particular fictional worlds.
