V současné době se lze setkat s názorem, že v českých zemích byla v oblasti chrámové hudby odjakživa silná tradice působení amatérských hudebníků. Údajně tím, že to tak vždy bylo, je v pořádku to, že to tak je i v současnosti. Není cílem této práce popřít úlohu amatérských hudebníků, ale snaha poukázat na aspekty, kdy je žádoucí, ba nenahraditelná profesionalita. Měl by jí být přiznán náležitý význam, který není bohužel vždy dostatečně chápán. V chrámové praxi často není činěn rozdíl v přístupu, jedná-li se o varhaníka amatéra, či profesionála, a to nejen po stránce finančního ohodnocení. Nowadays we can be witnesses of an opinion, that in czech country was always in the area of czech church music strong tradition amateur musicians´ influence. Supposedly, that it ever was, is correct, that it is still also today. An aim of this work is not to declaim a role of amateur musicians, but an effort to point to aspects, when is required, even irreplaceable a profesionality. It should be awarded a proper significance, which is unfortunately not always well understanded. In a church praxis is often made a difference in an attitude, if it is about amateur organist or profesionalist, and not just in a financial apprasial point of view.
