Abstract: Two new benzophenone-derived bisphophonium salts were tested in Leishmania donovaniand Trypanosoma brucei. In this study the effects of these compounds on succinate dehydrogenase, ATP synthase and mitochondrial membrane potential were explored to elucidate the mode of action.
