Práce se zabývá heavy metalovou subkulturou. V první části představuje pojem, historii heavy metalu, heavy metalové podžánry, společenské role v samotné sub-kultuře (kdo je člen kapely, hrozič, groupie, atd.) a společenské tance, které se odehrávají na koncertech heavy metalových kapel. Druhá část je věnována kontro-verzním tématům spojeným s heavy metalem jako: gender, náboženství, násilí, smrt, drogy a alkohol. Dále popisuje vztah mezi heavy metalovou subkulturou a společ-ností. Předmětem poslední části jsou heavy metalové texty, které jsou často velmi kontroverzní a někdy mohou být nazvány za zdraví škodlivé. The work deals with the heavy metal subculture. In the first part it introduces the term, history of heavy metal, heavy metal sub-genres, social roles in the subcul-ture (who is band member, headbanger, groupie, etc.) and collective dances which are taking part in concerts of heavy metal bands. The second part is devoted to con-troversial topics connected to heavy metal like: gender, religion, violence, death, drugs and alcohol. Next it describes relationship between heavy metal subculture and society. The subject of the last part is heavy metal lyrics which are very often controversial and which sometimes can be named like health harmful.
