Tato diplomová práce se zabývá připraveností České republiky na vstup do eurozóny. Naše republika se zavázala přijmout společnou měnu euro již samotným vstupem do Evropské unie, proto není na místě zkoumat, zda má ČR euro přijmout či nikoliv, ale kdy bude nejvhodnější tento krok učinit. Úvodní část práce popisuje historii evropské měnové integrace a Pakt stability a růstu, jakožto důležitý nástroj dodržování rozpočtové disciplíny. Teoretická část práce je zaměřena na teorii optimálních měnových zón, která úzce souvisí s měnovou integrací. V analytické části zkoumám rychlost nominálního a reálného přibližování české ekonomiky k ekonomikám eurozóny. Detailně se věnuji plnění konvergenčních kritérií a reálnou konvergenci analyzuji na základě ukazatele růstu HDP. Aktuálně se věnuji vlivu potíží Řecka na přijetí eura v ČR a makroekonomickým zkušenostem Slovenska se vstupem do eurozóny. This graduation thesis is concerned with the Czech Republic's readiness for the entry to the euro area. Our Republic engaged to adopt shared euro currency already before the single admission to the European union, therefore it is not suitable to research, whether the Czech Republic should adopt euro or not, but when this step will be the most appropriate to render. The introductory part of the theses describes the history of the European monetary integration and the Stability and Growth Pact as an important instrument of the budget branch adherence. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the theory of optimal monetary areas, which is closely associated with monetary integration. Analytical section examines the rate of nominal and real approximation of Czech economy to the euro area's economies. I deal thoroughly with the fulfilment of convergence criteria and on the basis of GDP growth rate I analyse the real convergence. I solve the current influence of Greece's problems on the admission of euro in the Czech Republic and the Slovak macroeconomic experience with the entry to the euro area.
