Hlavním významem předložené práce je věnovat se části programu v terapeutických komunitách pro drogově závislé, který se nazývá mužská skupina. Práce přináší fakta a pohledy na současný stav mužů ve společnosti, vývojové problémy mužů a mužská témata. Popisuje genderovou otázku v oblasti duševních poruch a užívání drog. Informuje o vzniku a zkušenostech z vedení mužských skupin ve světě i v České republice, především Ligy otevřených mužů a terapeutické komunity Podcestný Mlýn. Součástí práce je výzkumné šetření, jehož cílem je zmapovat výskyt a pojetí mužských skupin v programu terapeutických komunit sdružených v Sekci terapeutických komunit Asociace nestátních organizací. The major aim of this thesis is to focus on the part of a program of therapeutic communities for drug abusers called "the men's groups." The thesis is bringing the facts and the views at the present position of men in society, developmental problems of men and male themes. It describes the gender issue in the field of mental disorders and drug abuse. It informs about the origin and experiences in running of the men's groups in the world as well as in the Czech Republic especially the League of Outspoken Men and Therapeutic Community Podcestný Mlýn. The constituent of this thesis is the search with an aim to map the presence and the approach of men's groups in the programs of therapeutic communities united in the Section of therapeutic communities of Association of Non-Governmental Organizations.
