Cílem této práce bylo shrnutí informací o biodiverzitě a genetické variabilitě a o faktorech, které tuto variabilitu ovlivňují. Podrobněji jsou potom popsány genetické zdroje hospodářských zvířat, genetické zdroje koní, zejména pak starokladrubského koně, jakožto české kulturní památky. Toto plemeno je názorný živoucí příklad toho, jak lze využít genetickou informaci pro šlechtění a pro zachování druhu. A major purpose of this study was to summarize the information on the biodiversity and genetic variability on the earth and about factors affecting the diversity. There are more details about genetic origins of farm animals with focus on horse, namely Old Kladruber horses as a Czech cultural monument. This breed is illustrative living example how to use genetic information for breeding and for conservation of the species.
