Bakalářská práce s názvem "Sociální stát z pohledu České republiky a Velké Británie" se zabývá charakteristikou těchto dvou přístupů k sociální politice a především komparací vybraných ukazatelů, jež vlády těchto zemí využívají k zabezpečení jejich fungování. Úvodní teoretická část je věnována vysvětlení problematiky chudoby. Následuje typologie státu blahobytu, jeho historický vývoj, nástroje a problémy, se kterými se nyní potýká. Praktická část se snaží postihnout zásadní rozdíly mezi fungováním sociálního státu v České republice a Velké Británii. Konkrétně porovnává ukazatele chudoby, ekonomického hospodaření, minimální mzdy, nezaměstnanosti, důchodového pojištění, zdravotnictví a vzdělání. Na závěr jsou navrhnuta doporučení pro zlepšení současné české situace. The bachelor thesis called "The Welfare State from the Czech Republic's and the Great Britain's point of view" deals with characteristic of these two attitudes to social politics and especially it focuses on comparing selected indicators which governments of these countries use to ensure its existence. The opening theoretical part is dedicated to explanation of poverty issue. It is followed by typologies of the welfare state, its historical evolution, used instruments and finally problems that it has to face nowadays. Practical part aspires to describe fundamental differences between Czech and Britain social state functioning. In detail it compares indicators of poverty, economy, minimum wage, unemployment rate, pension assurance, health care and education. There are some suggestions for improving Czech situation made in the end of this thesis.
