Dance gymnastics is a special teaching subject, taught at dance conservatories which serves for preparation of all dance techniques. It is an essential preparation technique, which increases pupil´s physical dispositions and moving versatility and develops his artistic personality. It uses the natural movement possibilities of human body.
In the thesis, I firstly try to introduce to the current state of dance gymnastics, focusing on its importance and approaches. I also specify relations to other techniques, by which dance gymnastics should be influenced. In the next part, I propose how to enrich dance gymnastics with elements of contemporary dance and point out specific components, which should be part of this kind of dance.
