Autor se ve svém příspěvku zabývá odpovědí na otázku, zda má výzkum na lidských embryonálních buňkách nějaký smysl a zda se výsledky výzkumu dají prakticky zužitkovat. Zamýšlí se nad morálním stausem liského embrya, se kterým úzce souvisí problematika právního statusu a dalšího osudu nadbytečných embryí. In his contribution, the author deals with the question whether human embryonic cell research is meaningful and the research outcomes have any practical application. He considers the moral status of a human embryo, which closely relates to the issues of the legal status and fate of surplus embryos.
