Práce pojednává o problematice začleňování osob s mentálním postižením do běžné populace. Na základě dotazníkového šetření analyzuje probíhající transformaci sociálních služeb v ČR a zaměřuje se na průběh komunikace s veřejností. Hledá odpovědi na otázky jak je veřejnost připravena na soužití s lidmi s mentálním postižením a zda existují stereotypy v chování k těmto lidem. Přináší návrhy jak předcházet konfliktním situacím při adaptaci v novém prostředí a jak se vzájemně respektovat. This paper deals with the problems and issues with integration of mentally ill individuals into common population. Based on analytical surveying the document analyzes ongoing transformation of social services in the Czech Republic and focuses on the progress and development of ongoing communication with public in this regard. It seeks answers to questions related to the preparedness of the common population to coexist with people suffering from mental illness and tries to answer questions dealing with possible existence of stereotypes in behavior towards these individuals. This material puts forward proposals on how to prevent conflicting situations during the adaption of these individuals in a new environment and on how to build mutual respect between the involved parties.
