Bakalářská práce "Postava letce v prózách Antoina de Saint-Exupéry" se zaměřuje na zkoumání postavy letce ve vybraných prózách tohoto francouzského autora. Kromě uvedení literárních děl do kulturněhistorického kontextu obsahuje práce rovněž rozbor charakteristiky letce a několika hlavních témat, která se v dílech vyskytují. Postava Antoina de Saint-Exupéryho, letce, scénáristy a především spisovatele, se stala námětem mnoha biografií a filmových adaptací a její odkaz žije dodnes. Z jeho děl je patrně nejznámější Malý princ, ale srovnatelných kvalit dosahují i díla další, která jsou částečně skryta v princově stínu. Mnoho pozornosti bylo soustředěno na Saint-Exupéryho pojetí morálky, strachu a smrti - na témata, která v sobě postava letce spojuje, a proto je zajímavé stanovit její základní rysy. Rozborem jednotlivých děl, jejich srovnáním a vymezením společných znaků vytvoříme zjednodušený model postavy letce, který zároveň, bude-li to možné, porovnáme s autorovou osobností a vyznačíme její funkci v příběhu i v působení na čtenáře. This thesis focuses on the research of the pilot´s character in chosen writings by the French author. While we can divide his writings into both historical and cultural context there is also an analysis of the pilot´s characterization together with the main themes contained in the writings. Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who was an aviator and script writer but primarily an author, has come under the scrutiny of many biographers and movie adaptations so that Saint-Exupérys' legacy remains alive. The Little Prince is probably the writers' most famous work and although his others writings are comparable with The Little Prince, these have been overshadowed by the work. A lot of attention has been paid to Saint-Exupéry´s conception of morality, fear and death which are topics united into the pilot´s character and so it is interesting to mark out the main typical features. This thesis analyses and compares individual writing and identifies the common features which creates a simplified model of the pilot. If possible, the model will be compared with the author and we will mark his function in the tale together with his influence on readers.
