Tématem bakalářské práce je fenomén art brut, především tvorba duševně nemocných jedinců. Jejich díla vznikají na okraji společnosti bez ambice stát se uměním, přesto však pronikají na půdu uměleckých institucí a začleňují se tak do světa umění. Stěžejní otázkou práce je problematika jejich místa ve světě umění. Je možné tato díla považovat za umění, a pokud ano, v čem spočívá jejich umělecká hodnota? Kde se nachází hranice mezi těmito díly a vysokým uměním? Lze tvořit umění zcela bez vlivu kultury? Předkládaná práce mapuje historické proměny art brut, představuje okolnosti, které vedly ke vzniku tohoto pojmu a zároveň ukazuje jeho proměny až do současnosti. Dotýká se problematiky jeho klasifikace a interpretace, poukazuje taktéž na art brut jako na významný inspirační zdroj pro některé umělecké směry 20. století. The topic of this bachelor thesis is the phenomenon of art brut, primarily the creations made by the mentally ill. Their works are created at the edge of the society, lack any ambition to become art and yet they appear in art institutions and thus become a part of the artistic world. The key issue of this thesis is the issue of their place in the artistic world. Is it possible to consider them art, and if so, where does their value lie? Where is the boundary between such works and high art? Is it possible to create art without any cultural influence? The thesis presented maps the historical changes in art brut, introduces the circumstances that led to emergence of this term and shows its development up to the present day. Furthermore, it deals with the issue of art brut?s classification and interpretation and also refers to it as a significant source of inspiration for some of the twentieth-century art movements.
