Tato bakalářská práce popisuje historii vzniku a vývoje odvětví textilního průmyslu, orientovaného na produkci úpletových textilií. Zdokumentovány jsou zde prvopočátky pletení a postupný rozvoj mechanizace v tomto oboru. Historie pletařství v České republice je spojena s firmu Jitex Písek, jednoho z největších českých textilních podniků. Práce popisuje používané technologie a procesy výroby úpletů v jednotlivých provozech podniku Jitex Písek. This thesis is focused on the origins and development of the textile industry, the production-oriented knitwear fabrics. It deals with the beginning of knitting and the gradual development of mechanization in this field. The history of the knitting industry in Czech Republic is transferred with the company Jitex Písek which represents one of the greatest Czech textile enterprises. The thesis also contains a description of technologies and production processes in individual plants knitwear company Jitex Písek.
