Tato práce se zabývá historií tělesné výchovy a sportu Trhových Svinů od založení jednoty Sokol ve městě až do současnosti. Autor se zaměřil především na vzestup a působení jednoty Sokol v Trhových Svinech, dále věnoval pozornost nejpočetnějším tělovýchovným spolkům, TJ Spartaku, jeho oddílům a činnostem těchto oddílů a ve sportovním světě významným osobám narozeným v Trhových Svinech. Prameny pro tuto práci byly čerpány zejména z Okresního archívu v Českých Budějovicích, z knih zabývajících se historií města, z pravidelných článků předsedů oddílů v Trhovosvinenských listech, a také některých pamětníků a jejich soukromých spisů. This thesis looks into history of physical training and sport in Trhové Sviny from date of the foundation of unity ?Sokol? till present. Author focused mainly on rise and work of Sokol's unity in Trhové Sviny and besides that he paid attention to the largest physical training associations such as TJ Spartak, its clubs and their activity. Finally, the work describes the important characters in the world of sport born in Trhové Sviny. Sources for this thesis were acquired mostly out of the District archive in České Budějovice, from books containing history of the town, regular articles in Trhovosvinenské listy written by the TJ Spartak chairmen and some information were also obtained thanks to several witnesses and their private files.
