Abstract: Bergman's rule is a well-known biogeographic generalizations more than 150 years old, but still popular. Its popularity in the field of recent research, however, reflected on its validity. The rule is often redefined, or entirely questioned. This thesis aims to evaluate contemporary research on Bergman's rule, to judge whether this theory is valid or not and to suggests further possibilities of research to prove so.
