Tato práce představuje problematiku Severního Irska, dlouholetý spor mezi katolíky a protestanty, jejich praktiky, které používají k dosažení svých cílů a postoj etiky a církve k celému konfliktu. Práce je rozdělena do čtyř kapitol. V první kapitole jsou pojmenovány spory z pohledu historie, které zapříčinily následné vyhrocení konfliktu v období ?The Troubles?. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na vliv terorismu a na způsob guerillového boje paramilitantních skupin a jejich podrobný popis. Třetí kapitola nastiňuje náboženskou dimenzi konfliktu a vyjádření Jana Pavla II. k událostem v Severním Irsku. Kapitola čtvrtá vymezuje morální dobro a zlo v kontextu desatera jako morálního základu lidstva. Též nahlíží na problematiku z pohledu nauky o spravedlivé válce. This thesis presents the problematic of Northern Ireland, long-time conflict between Catholics and Protestants, their practices which are used for achieving their goals and the attitude of church to the whole conflict. The thesis is divided into four chapters. In the first chapter, there are described the conflicts of the history view which caused the subsequent escalation of the conflict in ?The Trouble? period. The second chapter focuses on terrorist?s influence and the way of guerilla war of paramilitary groups and their complex description. The third chapter depicts religious dimension of the conflict and the pronouncement of Pope John Paul II to incidents in Northern Ireland. The fourth chapter delimits the moral good and evil in the context of Ten Commandments, as a moral basic element of mankind. This chapter also concentrates on the problematic of the just-doctrine war view.
