Cílem této práce je teoreticky popsat různé matematické metody konstrukce burzovních indexů, zhodnotit silné a slabé stránky jednotlivých přístupů a na závěr dát doporučení, kdy kterou metodu použít. Zvláštní důraz kladu na metody konstrukce indexů v České republice a jí blízkých zemích. Dále popisuji pravděpodobnostní rozdělení výnosů (koeficientů růstu, relativních přírůstků) a porovnat ho s vhodným teoretickým rozdělením (normální, log-normální). Má práce se dělí na tři hlavní kapitoly. V první podávám teoretický výklad všech možných výpočtů burzovních indexů, různé jejich transformace a vztahy mezi nimi. Teoretický výklad je doplněn názornými příklady. Druhá kapitola je zaměřena na specifika výpočtu indexu PX Pražské burzy. V poslední kapitole provádím porovnání přístupu českých a vhodně zvolených zahraničních tvůrců indexu. The goal of this thesis is to describe different mathematical methods of construction stock market indices, to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of particular approaches and to give the recommendation which of these methods is suitable to use at last. The special emphasis is placed on the methods of construction stock market indices in the Czech Republic and its close neighbouring countries. Further in order I give an account of distribution revenues probability (coefficients of growth, relative increments) and compare it with convenient theoretical distribution (normal, log-normal). My thesis is divided into three main chapters. In the first one I put a theoretic interpretation on all possible stock market indices calculation, their various transformation and relationship between them. The theoretic interpretation is completed with demonstrative examples. The second chapter is focused on calculation of Prague Stock Exchange PX index particularities. In the last chapter I perform the comparison of attitude appropriately chosen Czech and foreign index makers.
