cze Abstract:
This bachelor thesis deals with the German writer Karl May. The second part of the thesis deals with the relationship of Karl May to the Czech environment, both to Bohemia, where Karl May spent several weeks of his life on various visits, and to the Czechs themselves, especially to his Czech publisher Josef Richard Vilímek junior. In the third and final part of the thesis several Czech admirers of Karl May reveals why the German writer became their lifelong hobby.
