Ošetřovatelství se rozvíjí a stává se oborem s vědeckou základnou a vzdělanými pracovníky. Díky tomu je ošetřovatelská péče kvalitnější a bezpečnější. Sestry získávají prestiž, důležitost a autonomii. Cílem této práce bylo zmapovat, jak své vlastnosti a dovednosti vnímají sestry a jaký pohled na stejné vlastnosti a dovednosti sester mají pacienti. Výzkumné šetření bylo provedeno pomocí kvantitativní metody formou nestandardizovaného dotazníku. Výzkum byl orientován na názor sester a pacientů, proto první výzkumný soubor tvořily všeobecné sestry a druhý výzkumný soubor tvořili pacienti lůžkových oddělení a ambulancí. Byly použity dva typy dotazníků, jeden byl určen pro všeobecné sestry a druhý pro pacienty. Dotazníky obsahovaly identické otázky, abychom mohli provést srovnávací analýzu odpovědí od sester a pacientů. Analýza dat prokázala, že všeobecné sestry hodnotí své praktické i komunikační dovednosti lépe než pacienti. Dále bylo zjištěno, že pacienti považují komunikační dovednosti sester za nejvýznamnější dovednost, na rozdíl od sester, které označily za nejdůležitější při poskytování ošetřovatelské péče praktickou dovednost sester. Při porovnávání výsledků, byly zjištěny velké rozdíly v odpovědích od obou skupin.. Především se jednalo o oblast komunikačních dovedností sester. Pacienti volili záporné odpovědi na otázky, zda se sestry ptají na názory pacientů a zda sestry umí komunikovat s rodinou pacienta. Toto negativní zjištění potvrdilo, že oblast komunikace je stále problémem ošetřovatelství a měla by jí být věnována větší pozornost. Je zásadní trénovat komunikační dovednosti sester. Nursing develops and becomes a field with scientific base and well-educated employees. Thanks to that, nursing care is safer and of better quality. Nurses obtain prestige, importance and autonomy. The aim of this thesis is to map haw the nurses perceive their the features and skills and what is the view of patients of the same features and skills of nurses. The research was performed using the quantitative method in the form of a non-standardised questionnaire. The research was aimed at opinion of nurses and patients and so the first research set consisted of general nurses and the second set consisted of patients of hospital wards and ambulances. There were used two types of questionnaires ? one of them designed for general nurses and the other one for patients. The questionnaires contained identical questions so as we could perform a comparative analysis of answers from nurses and patients. The data analysis proved that general nurses assess their practical and communication skills better than the patients. It was also established that patients consider the communication skills of nurses to be the most important skill, while nurses stated for their practical skills to be the most important part of nursing care. When comparing the results, significant differences were established in answers of both of the groups. It concerned mainly the field of communication skills of nurses. The patients selected negative answers to questions whether nurses ask the patients for their opinions and whether the nurses know how to communicate with families of nurses. The negative findings confirmed that the communication field remains to be a problem in nursing and that more attention should be paid to it. It is significant to train the communication skills of nurses.
