Abstract: Codling moth (Cydia pomonella) is a major pest of pome fruit and walnuts in the world. Cydia pomonella granulovirus (CpGV) is used as a highly efficient and specific way to control this pest. Recently, several resitant populations have been reported. This thesis presents literature survey of codling moth genetics and CpGV resistance. It also provides experimental design for linkage mapping of codling moth resistance to CpGV.
