Práce spadá tematicky do oblasti sociální politiky. Konkrétně se zabývá u nás dosud nepříliš známým avšak v zahraničí se rozvíjejícím systémem zajišťování sociální péče. Self-directed support (SDS), tedy podpora řízená jednotlivcem, je určena pro lidi s postižením, seniorům a dlouhodobě nemocným. Klíčovou roli zde zastává osobní rozpočet, který je vázaný na uživatele sociálních služeb a umožňuje mu tak alokovat finanční prostředky podle svých potřeb. Britská organizace In Control je příkladem realizace v praxi. Práce analyzuje model SDS v kontextu historického vývoje i současného systému sociální péče v Anglii a dochází k závěru o velkém potenciálu efektivnosti. This Bachelor's thesis falls thematically into field of Social Policy. Specifically it deals in Czech Republic yet known, but abroad evolving system of Social Care. Self-Directed Support (SDS) is a support led by an individual and is designed for people with disabilities, the elderly and long-term sick. A fundamental role is set for personal budget, which is closely linked with users of Social Care, and grandts them possibility to allocate funds according to their needs and wishes. British organization is an example of implementation SDS in practice. The thesis analyses the SDS model in the context of the historical development and current Social Care system in England and concludes to the great potential of effectiveness.
