Cílem práce je z makroekonomického hlediska diskutovat nástroje monetární a fiskální politiky, které byly aplikovány v USA v letech 2008-2011, a zhodnotit jejich dopady na klíčové makroekonomické veličiny. V první kapitole je zachycen předkrizový vývoj ekonomiky USA. Tato kapitola popisuje hospodářskou politiku v předkrizovém období, zabývá se počátky krize, vývojem cen nemovitostí v letech 2004-2007 a kolapsem hypotečního trhu. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na hospodářskou politiku v průběhu krize. Chronologicky jsou popsány všechny nástroje monetární i fiskální politiky, které byly využity v letech 2008-2011. Ve třetí kapitole je zhodnocena účinnost monetární expanze Fedu. V souvislosti s vývojem bilance a úrokových měr je diskutována schopnost Fedu ovlivnit monetární bázi. V poslední kapitole jsou vyčísleny náklady mimořádných opatření ministerstva financí do roku 2011. Poslední část této kapitoly je věnována zadlužení USA. This thesis analyzes monetary and fiscal policy tools used throughout 2008-2011 in the USA. The objective is to evaluate their effects on the key macroeconomic indicators. The first chapter reflects on the pre-crisis period. It summarizes the economic policy from 2000, describes the development on the real estate market and the collapse of the mortgage market. The second chapter focuses on the economic policy during the crisis. In this chapter, all monetary and fiscal tools are chronologically presented from 2008 to 2011. The third chapter evaluates monetary policy effectiveness and its ability to affect money supply through interest rates. The last chapter addresses the American public funds. It identifies costs of the Troubled Asset Relief Program and focuses on the structure of the Federal Debt.
