Rumunsko, jako celá řada dalších východoevropských zemí, stálo po rozpadu Rady vzájemné hospodářské pomoci na rozhraní mezi vyspělou Evropou a rozvojovým světem. Ekonomové zařadili do svých slovníků další termín, který označoval nový fenomén novodobé ekonomie -- ekonomická transformace. Práce se zaměřuje na ekonomickou transformací Rumunska po roce 1989. Úvodní část obsahuje analýzu hlavních přístupů vybraných teoretických ekonomických škol, které si vytvořily svoje "návody" na nejlepší způsob překonání transformace. Na teoretickou část navazuje rozbor vývoje hlavních ekonomických ukazatelů a jiných aspektů rumunské transformace. Pozornost je věnována i změnám v souvislosti se vstupem Rumunska do Evropské unie. Na závěr jsou zhodnoceny silné a slabé stránky transformačního procesu v Rumunsku. Romania, as other Central and Eastern European countries, was after 1989 in the position to make the choice regarding its future development. Economists have added a new word to their vocabulary -- the economic transformation. The work focuses on the process of economic transformation in Romania after 1989. The first part deals with the main theoretical approaches to the process of transformation. The theoretical part is followed by the analysis of the most important economical indicators and other features of the Romanian economic transformation. The accession of Romania to the European Union is also stressed out. The conclusion of the work summarises the successes and failures of the transformation process in Romania.
