Práce se v první kapitole zabývá historickými skutečnostmi, které utvářely sociální politiku takovou, v jaké podobě existuje v dnešní době. Je zde vycházeno převážně z jednotlivých legislativních ustanovení a smluv vydané orgány ES a EU. Druhá kapitola je věnována Lisabonské strategii, jejím cílům, hodnocení, revizím a sociálním akčním programům a guidelines. Samostatnou podkapitolu tvoří evropský rok 2010. V další části druhé kapitoly je zpracována souvislost s finanční krizí a v závěru jsou vyjmenovány finanční nástroje pro sociální politiku v EU. Třetí kapitola se věnuje evropskému sociálnímu modelu a jeho vývoji v budoucnosti. The first chapter is considerd to the historical facts that have led to the social policy we know today. This mostly results from the legislative acts issued by the authorities of the EC or EU. The second one is about the Lisbon strategy, its goals, performance measurement, revisions, social agendas and guidelines. A separetly subchapter is about the european year 2010. The next part of the second chapter is consecrated to the financial crisis and its impact on the deevelopment of the social policy. The third chapter is about the european social model and ist development in the future.
