Problematika lidských práv, respektive práv žen, a jejich ochrana je v dnešní době velmi citlivým tématem. I přes celosvětovou snahu o dodržování lidských práv se neustále střetáváme s jejich porušováním, zejména ve státech vyznávající islám. Tato práce pojednává o vztahu islámu k lidským právům, speciálně k právům žen, která jsou v muslimských státech silně potlačována. Práce analyzuje základní mezinárodní instrumenty na ochranu lidských práv a práv žen v komparaci s islámským pojetím. Zaměřuje se na případ Saúdské Arábie - stát, ve kterém dochází k porušování práv žen nejčastěji. The issue of human rights - or rather women's rights - and their protection has become a very sensitive topic as of lately. Despite global efforts of upholding human rights we still encounter their violation and especially so in states where Islam is widespread. This work addresses the relation between Islam and human rights, especially women's rights, which tend to be suppressed in Islamic states. The work analyses basic international instruments for protection of human and women's rights in comparison to the Islamic conception. It most directly focuses on the example of Saudi Arabia, a state in which the violation of women's rights can be found most often.
