V dnešní době je velice často skloňován pojem informační společnost, ale mnoho lidí přesně neví, co si pod touto slovní vazbou představit, nebo se jejich názory do značné míry liší. Informační společnost se vyznačuje zejména prací s daty, digitálním zpracováváním, způsoby uchovávání dat a jejich přenášením. Z práce s daty se v současné době stává ekonomická aktivita, která ovšem prostupuje všemi odvětvími. Žijeme v době digitalizace a neustále se zvyšujícího tempa vývoje. Otázce informační společnosti se v současné době velmi věnuje i veřejná správa. Jednou ze základních činností veřejné správy, vztahujících se k tomuto tématu, je snaha o zvýšení digitálního povědomí občanů. Další cíle si regionální politika klade v podobě zajištění vysoké úrovně informačních a komunikačních služeb občanům. Jednou z možných cest, jak těchto cílů dosáhnout, je budování bezdrátových městských sítí. Pro zavedení těchto sítí existuje několik modelů z pohledu rozdělení nákladů. Dále existuje několik modelů, rozdělujících municipální sítě podle druhu poskytovaných služeb a cílových příjemců těchto služeb. Tato práce má tedy za úkol definovat základní pojmy jako jsou "informační společnost", "municipální síť" a další pojmy s těmito související. Dále má tato práce ukázat různé způsoby zavedení těchto bezdrátových městských sítí a v neposlední řadě poukázat na konkrétní příklady, kde proces zavedení municipální sítě již proběhl a posoudit jejich úspěšnost z pohledu iniciátora výstavby -- místní samosprávy. Nowadays the information society is a very often discussed topic, but lots of people don't know precisely what this idea means, or they have different opinions. The main characteristics of information society are labor with data, digital elaboration, ways of storage and data transportation. In these times labor with data is becoming an economical activity, that runs trough all segments. We are living in the age of digitalization and the rate of progression is still rising. This theme is also important in public sector. One of elementary activities in public sector is rising digital awareness of inhabitants. Other goal local governments are aiming for is providing high level and high quality information and communication services. One of the ways to achieve these goals is without doubt building wireless municipal networks. There are several investor models for implementing these municipal networks. There are also several models that address the various ways these networks can contribute to their users. Purpose of this study is to define and explain elementary terms such as "information society" and "municipal network" and other terms that are connected with these. Another object of this study is to show different ways to implement these wireless municipal networks and also to show examples where the act of implementation of municipal network has already been processed and make success assessment of existing implementations from the initiator -- local government's point of view.
