Má diplomová práce se zaměřuje na zachycení vývoje diplomatických vztahů mezi Čínskou lidovou republikou a Spojenými státy americkými. Pro komplexnější porozumění je nastíněn nejen historický vývoj vzájemných vztahů, ale i kulturní a politické odlišnosti obou zemí. Cílem mé práce je poukázat na to, jak historické a kulturní odlišnosti formovaly vývoj bilaterálních vztahů mezi těmito zeměmi. Dále se pak zaměřuji na dopad tohoto vývoje na obě země a na okolní svět a letmo nastíním možný vývoj do budoucna. Důraz je v práci kladen především na období po rozpadu sovětského bloku, protože právě v tomto období se objevila řada otázek a problémů, které jsou klíčovými i dnes. Kam se vzájemné vztahy ubíraly po zmizení sovětské hrozby? Co se stalo klíčovými tématy a jak k nim bylo přistupováno? Jak se budou vztahy vyvíjet do budoucna? Jaká je reakce Spojených států na rostoucí vliv Číny? Hrozí konflikt? S postupným přesunem ohniska mezinárodních vztahů do Tichomoří vyvstává podobných otázek celá řada. Má práce je členěna do 6 kapitol, které jsou s výjimkou první chronologicky uspořádány. Klíčová část práce se zaměřuje na události související s potlačením demonstrace na náměstí Nebeského klidu, zabývá se rolí Tchaj-wanu, KLDR a sílícího postavení Číny ve vzájemných vztazích, v neposlední řadě řeší také ekonomické a politické otázky. My diploma thesis focuses on evolution of bilateral diplomatic relationship between the People's Republic of China and the United States of America. Both historical development and differences in political and cultural sphere are outlined for complex understanding of sino-us relations. The goal of my diploma thesis is to point out how the historical and cultural differences formed the development of bilateral sino-us relationship, how the development itself affected both states and the rest of the world and to refer to the possible future development. My thesis stresses the time period after the disintegration of the Soviet Bloc because in this period many questions and problems arose in mutual relations which are important even today. How did the mutual relations change after the Soviet threat disappeared? Which issues did become pivotal and how did both sides approach them? What can be expected from the future development of the relations? How have the U.S. reacted to the rise of China? Is there a possible conflict coming? With the progressive movement of the centre of international relations to the Pacific area there are many similar questions emerging. My thesis is divided into 6 chapters which are chronologically ordered. The main focus is on the relations after Tiananmen incident, the role of Taiwan, North Korea and rising China in mutual relations, and last but not least on economic and political questions.
