V této práci se věnuji analýze realistického paradigmatu a vybrané kritiky jeho postulátů ze strany sociálních konstruktivistů. Cílem práce je nalézt oblasti, ve kterých by mohlo docházet k dílčí syntéze těchto dvou pozic. V práci přicházím s návrhem interpretovat státy a potažmo mezinárodní vztahy jako sociální instituce, přičemž úlohou realistického paradigmatu zůstává odhalování jejich pravidel a zásad fungování. In this thesis I analyze realism and some of its social constructivist critics. The aim of the thesis is to find areas in which there is a potential for a synthesis of these two paradigms. I propose understand states and the international system as whole as social institutions, with realism to find and interpret its rules and modus operandi.
