Cílem bakalářské práce je poskytnout přehled a popis takových technologií v databázovém systému Oracle, které jsou využitelné pro práci s extrémně velkými objemy dat a ověřit přínos některých z těchto technologií v praxi. V úvodu se práce zabývá problémem velkých objemů dat ve společnosti obecně a snaží se vymezit i velikost dat v databázových systémech. V teoretické části dojde k představení několika různých technologií -- největší důraz je kladen na nejrůznější formy partitioningu. V praktické části dochází k navržení způsobu provedení testů, sestavení automatických testovacích procedur a spuštění těchto testů. Práci lze použít jako rychlou příručku při výkonnostních problémech nad velkými objemy dat -- díky uváděným příkladům přímo v textu je jejich modifikace pro konkrétní případ snadná. V neposlední řadě může práce posloužit díky automatickým testovacím procedurám, které lze s mírnou úpravou použít pro široké spektrum testovacích případů. The aim of the Bachelor's thesis is to provide an overview and description of such technologies in the Oracle database, which can be used for work with extremely large volumes of data and to verify the benefits of some of these technologies in practice. At the beginning, the work deals with problems of large amounts of data in general and seeks to define the size of data in the database systems. In the theoretical part, several different technologies will be introduced. The greatest emphasis is placed on various forms of partitioning. The practical part contains a proposal for the implementation of tests, building automated test procedures, and for the execution of these tests. The work can be used as a quick guide in case of dealing with performance issues with large volumes of data. Making any changes for the particular case is easy according to examples given in the text. Last, but not least, the work may help with automatic testing procedures, which can be used with a slight adjustment for a wide range of test cases.
