Processing of territorial study as a basis for urban plan
ČERMÁKOVÁ, Veronika
The diploma thesis is focused on the preparation of a territorial study and the related issues of territorial planning. The chosen locality for the development of the study is the village of Myslkovice. Through the analysis, several problems were found to be solved. This is a lack of living space, a threat to the popular public space in front of the local castle and noise and dust pollution around the production areas. Each of the locations requires a different solution and all are described in detail in this thesis. In addition to the solution and description of the affected areas, the work also inc-ludes a literature search of the chosen issue and a detailed description of the area. The conclusion of the work is the recommendation of resulting strategies to improve the analyzed problems.

Poulíčková, Radka ; Pavlun, Martin (referee) ; Koleček, Ivan (advisor)
This project presents an architectural and landscape solution for the territory of the Jihlava suburb, which is located on the border between the city and the countryside. The work includes not only the approach to housing construction itself in the mentioned area, but also the idea of changing the way of spending free time in the surroundings of Stará plovárna. The theoretical part provides a personal view of the housing process. Last but not least, it deals with the relationship between housing and nature.

Brno Connectivity / Brno Democratic City
Vašková, Vendula ; Hrivňáková, Klára (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
Living in a city means living with other people. We share streets, squares, and parks. When we come home, we become individualists. The concept is based on connectivity. The project focuses on connecting people, it blurs the boundaries between public and private space. The project aims to redefine the connection between public and private space. I work with this approach in both outdoor and indoor spaces. I create a sequence of several interconnected spaces that will lead the residents from the busy city to the privacy of their rooms. The project focuses on the design of community housing. Neighbors don't share a place, they share a life.
Brno Connectivity / Brno Democratic City
Šujanová, Radka ; Zvonková, Monika (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The task of the diploma thesis was to find a suitable place in Brno and propose an intervention. An essential part of the design was thinking about the connection between building objects and the people between them. My work deals with social housing. The project stops the existing brownfield at the Cyrilská - Mlýnská intersection near the Vlněna Business Center. The choice of location is not random. In the center of the city, on the border of the new and the old, an opportunity arises for social diversity and the overall connection of different societies.
Brno Connectivity / Brno Democratic City
Ondrišák, Matej ; Žáčková, Iveta (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The conceptual-architectural design represents the restoration of the brownfield of wine cellars in Brno- Zábrdovice. It reflects on the possible use of the area, following the direction of the city’s philosophy in the improvement of dysfunctional, abandoned and neglected so-called vague places. It deals with the solution of the renewal of public space, the trend of urban interventions and brings to the owner a direct way of opening up the area of the currently unused space above the wine cellars. The restoration proposal responds to the historical context of the area, the continuity of the environment. Its main role is to bring an attractive public space to the site, with the added value of opening up the wine cellars and the opportunity to create a natural setting for the site, and bringing the proverbial genius loci to the site. The second part of the conceptual-architectural design provides detailed procedures, use and discussion of the functional program of the different parts of the proposal. The analytical-volumetric reflection formed the basis for this, which resulted in the site program. By organizing programmes, the ideas of the functioning of the functional fillings and their deployment in synergy with each other, a primary space was created with the possibilities of their year-round, but also seasonal use.
The city library and public space in the area of the former sugar factory in Břeclav
Juříček, Pavel ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The current appearance of the former Cukrovar site in Břeclav has been unsatisfactory for a long time with many functional and aesthetic problems. The proposal addresses the use of the former market hall and the adjacent public space between U Stadionu Street and Kuffner Embankment in Břeclav, preserving the historic form of the building and adding functional elements visually clearly separable from the original structure. According to the city's requirements, the functional use of the hall is a new Municipal Library with additional functions. Adjacent areas are designed with ample green space available for both pedestrian and bicycle circulation.
Vltava Philharmonic
Mikel, Jakub ; Šindlar, Jiljí (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The Philharmonic is a building that, in terms of its operational as well as conceptual nature, forms a very complex object that allows the architect to try out a whole range of situations. Also, its visual essence cannot be neglected, because the philharmonic, especially when it is the one in the capital, becomes one of the architectural symbols of the country. In my work, I deal with this task in the background of the competition that took place, and thus of the real tender conditions. An important focus of the work is the connection between the Philharmonic and the public, both through a large number of public areas directly in the building, and also through the creation of residential areas in its surroundings. This is also associated to the connection of the public space and the river, where the public space around the building is directly connected to the riverbank.
Na Bělisku Restaurant
Grunwaldová, Veronika ; Mašek, Radomír (referee) ; Marek, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of a restaurant. It will be possible to rent the living spaces of the pavilion for social, family or cultural events, such as lectures, chamber concerts and exhibitions. The restaurant is designed in the former textile area, which is located between Mlýnská Street and Bělisko Street. The location of the area is on the outskirts of the town of Ústí nad Orlicí. The national cycle route runs nearby, while the Tichá Orlice flows here, to which the Orlice Nature Park adjoins. In the first phase, the specifics of the site are analyzed and an urban solution was developed. In the second phase of the thesis, the object of the restaurant was dealt with, which is processed in a more detailed scale of the documentation. The thesis serves as a vision for the restoration of the former textile area.
Between Production and Recreation
Madro, Oskar ; Chuchlíková, Ida (referee) ; Hora, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis "In the Shadow", based on the pre-diploma thesis "After the Work", explores the territory of Brno's Kraví Hora. Then, on its basis, asks questions about the current form of the architect and urban planner profession, and the challenges that these professions are supposed to address. The thesis searches for the qualities of the territory in question in the shadows of our professions' interests, in areas outside the productive logic of things. In an attempt to find a way out of the tight spot in which we as architects and urban planners find ourselves today. As between two millstones, we are constricted by mutually contradictory systems - capitalism, on which we depend, and climate change, whose fatality and elusiveness subvert any sense of our work. Careful documentation of the territory seeks out moments that we might normally overlook or sweep off the table in the interests of the greater good, and places them at the centre. The periphery becomes the centre, the periphery shapes the centre. The result is an acceptance and appreciation of the existing reality of Kraví hora. On its basis, the thesis proposes both a set of small, quick interventions that will yield the potential for creating a green skeleton for the area, and then a scenario of transformation for the central part of the area, where the shadowy qualities of urban wilderness and the potential for new meanings collide. How to bring new activities to Kraví hora without destroying the urban wilderness?
